#2024 MLB report on pitcher injuries https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-releases-report-on-pitcher-injuries-2024 by David Adler - highlighted “takeaways” -
1) There was a broad consensus that pitchers chasing max-effort velocity and "stuff" is driving the increase in injuries.
2) Recent injuries to star pitchers have brought increased attention to pitcher health, but pitcher injuries have risen steadily for the last two decades.
3) But in recent seasons, the injury spike is happening in Spring Training. Pitcher injuries have held steady or declined in-season.
4) Major League Baseball and amateur baseball are interconnected.
5) There's a lot more work to come - suggested followup items.

#MHSAA 2025 season (coaching & tryouts) begin on Monday, March 10 - first date for game competition is Wednesday, March 19. Note that Ohio coaching / tryouts started on February 24 with the first competition on March 28 allowing significantly more time (official) for selection and preparation.
